The members of AIM ARC

would like to welcome new members to our new club .

Ashton in Makerfield Amateur Radio Club was set up by Peter M0RGN and Elaine M6CLB (SK) in 2012  with a view to introducing new people into amateur radio and welcoming those that are already part of the international hobby.

Construction and Testing are just two of the many things the Amateur Radio hobby brings.

Communication is the main thing, where you can talk to someone round the corner or to a station on the other side of the planet, even via the International Space Station which now has a repeater on board. Staying with the space theme, if weather conditions are favorable it is possible to bounce signals off the moon.

But before all that, you will need an Amateur Radio license which can be gained through full training at

The Diamond Community Centre
